Banding History

Chris learnt to play with the Salvation Army in Brighouse, West Yorkshire and soon joined the Queensbury Music Centre. Whilst there Chris was part of the 1976 4th Section National Finals winning band and runner-up in the 3rd Section National Finals in 1977.

Leaving Queensbury Music Centre band in 1983, Chris joined the Hammonds Sauce Works band (the original name for the Yorkshire Building Society/YBS and now Hammonds Saltaire band) before moving to be part of the Lewington Yamaha Band where he remained until joining Yorkshire Imps in 1989. Whilst at Yorkshire Imps Chris was again part of a winning team claiming the Yorkshire Regional Championships title in 1993.

In 1993 Chris moved to the, world famous, Brighouse & Rastrick band where he yet again was part of the winning formula claiming Yorkshire Regional Champions in 1995 and both the Regional and National Championship Band of Great Britain titles in 1997.

More contest success travelled with Chris as he joined the Carlton Main band and yet again claimed the Yorkshire Regional Champions Title along wit the Grand Shield (qualifing contest for the prestigeous British Open Contest) in 1999.

Following a 10 year break from playing the "itch" needed scratching again and Chris came and joined us here at Drighlington Band.

Professional

Chris works as a Contract Liaison Manager for Amey UK in Bradford.
