Drighlington Senior Band

The Senior Band is the top level of the "family" consisting of 28 amateur brass musicians from all walks of life and vocations who share the same interest and passion in performing brass music.

It was founded in 1983 when it was realised that many members of the original Youth Band were coming to an age where they needed something more. Sponsorship during the 1980's and 1990's from Yorkshire Electricity enabled both bands to thrive and the Senior Band rapidly made its way through the section (imagine the way the football leagues work), winning contests all the way to our current status in the pinnacle of Brass Banding in the Championship Section of the Yorkshire Region.
